Win One Game. Do It 16 Times.

Oddly, I'm feeling fairly confident in the Caps as they begin their playoff adventures this year. Normally, when one of my teams (Caps, Chargers, occasionally the Padres) heads into the playoffs, there's always at least one or two teams better than they are. For example, the Chargers have had a good run the last couple of years, but every year I knew in the back of my mind that the Colts or the Patriots or some other good team would beat up on the Chargers if they advanced far enough into the playoffs.

But I don't feel that way about the Caps this year. For the most part, I watched every regular-season Caps game and, quite frankly, they didn't play any other team that they couldn't beat or at least play on the same level with. Sure, San Jose, Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, etc. are all top-flight teams, but it really looks like the Caps are better than any of them. It's kinda like the Caps are the Colts or the Patriots this year.

Can they really win the Stanley Cup? Well, with my history of cheering for non-championship teams, I don't want to make any predictions and I certainly don't want jinx them, but I do think that they have a real good shot at it.

Good luck, boys.
