We
found out Monday that he has cancer. Needless to say, we're crushed. Apparently, golden retrievers have
a higher rate of cancer than a lot of other breeds and it's something
that just happens.
And, unfortunately, his condition has suddenly
deteriorated in the last few days and he's not doing very well. We took
him back to the specialist today and they said there's nothing that they can
really do for him. It's worse than they originally thought and
it's the type of cancer that can spread. It's fairly advanced and
there's no real timetable, but things have gotten progressively worse.
So it looks like we have some decisions to make very soon.
I think I'm going to take a little hiatus from
the blog for awhile. I don't know how long, but I've got other things to
deal with obviously. For those of you who have expressed your sympathy
and have asked about the dog, Beth and I both appreciate it immensely.
Thank you. |
