Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Beth and I decided that we could no
longer tolerate our 80's-era TV (the one with the UHF and VHF knobs) so
we bit the bullet and started looking at some HD flat screen TVs online.
We weren't going to buy one of those huge home theater TVs, but we
wanted to get a fairly nice one.
Anyway, we found one we liked and placed the order. And, since we have
dull lives, we
were pretty jazzed about the new TV. We high-fived. We giggled. We even made up
a stupid little song about the day the TV was supposed to arrive (hence
the title of this entry). Then we went back to watching our old crappy
TV.
And what was on TV that night? A story on the news about how 1 in 4
children in the U.S. don't have enough food to eat on a regular basis.
Hmm.
Guilt is a powerful thing, so now we don't watch the news on our new TV. |
