Previous Entry. Next Entry.
Friday February 18 2005. SPACEY.
Jeez, I'm spacey today. Got up at 5:30 for some reason. Yeesh.
CHOCOLATE MINTS. 'VERTIGO' BY THE NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC.

Tomorrow is National Chocolate Mint Day. Seriously. And February is National Grapefruit Month.
Now, I know that these holidays are grand marketing endeavors produced by associations such as the National Coalition of Grapefruit Growers or whatever, but I like these made-up holidays anyway. They're, well, sorta fun.

I was thinking this morning that it would be kinda cool if I could somehow have interlude music playing on this weblog on the days I don't do entries. For example, today you'd hear nothing because I'm doing an entry, but from tomorrow until I do my next entry you'd hear some kind of elevator music or on-hold music. Know what I mean?
Jesus, what the fuck. I told you I was spacey today.
EDUCATION. EAT ME.

Wow, look how stupid I am. Chocolate mint is actually a real plant. I Googled for a picture of a chocolate mint with the full expectation of seeing images of Andes Candies, but instead I got a whole bunch of horticulture sites. Learn somethin' new everyday, I do...

Chocolate Mint (Mentha piperata) (Perennial). Size: 12” to 24” tall, up to 36” wide. Exposure: full sun to partial shade. Water: moist soil, moderate water. Bloom color: pink/lavender. Bloom time: late spring to mid-summer. Foliage color: greenish-bronze. Comments: plant in a container to prevent it from becoming invasive; flavor will be best if planted in full sun and given plenty of water and fertilizer; for maximum flavor, cut when plant is in full bloom; cut plant back in summer and fall to keep it neat; can be used fresh or dried; attracts bees, butterflies and/or birds.

DJ. Chocolate Mints, Education, Two-Line Pass, Eat Me, In Detail, Spacey, 'Vertigo' By The New York Philharmonic, and DJ.
Wedding Update: We've got ourselves a DJ (thanks to Matty). Beth has also done some dress shopping (for the gown and for bridesmaid dresses). Our next step is a florist and a photographer. We should probably book them pretty soon, shouldn't we? I'm thinking yes.
TWO-LINE PASS. IN DETAIL.
Looks like hockey is done for the season. Dumbasses. The other day my friend Kro asked me if I missed hockey. When I said no, he replied: "If you--a real hockey fan--don't miss the game, what does that say about the casual fan?"
  Good point.
Shit. Two good friends of mine had sort of a, well...let's just say there's a problem between them. There are issues. And it's sending ripples across our pool of friends. I don't really want to get into the details, but to be totally selfish, it bugs me when all my friends don't get along. Plus, it's gonna be a headache for the upcoming softball season, future gatherings, and other things that I'm not going to mention.
Hell, I don't know why I even brought this up if I'm not going to go into detail. Never mind.
