OK, just so you all don't think that I pick on Beth exclusively, I'd
like to point out that I have my Duh Moments as well (although I think
I've pointed that out plenty of times before, such as
here,
here and
here).
So anyway, we're throwing a dinner party for my parents for their 50th
anniversary next month. After The 'Rents sent me a list of who they'd
like to be invited, I went online and ordered the invitations. Not
wanting to run out if I screwed up, I ordered a few extra--they had 48
people on the list so I ordered 60 invitations just to be on the safe
side. No problem, right? Well, last
night I typed up all of the address labels and, lo and behold, I came up
with only 26 labels. Hmm. That means only 26 invitations need to be sent
out, not 48. Then I figured it out.
There's a total of 21 couples and 6 singles being invited. Plus, we're
not sending an invite to ourselves. So in reality, I only
needed maybe 35 invitations rather than 60.
Ah, shit.
We're just throwing money out the window around here... |
