Thursday January 6 2005. HAPPY SOMETHING I SUPPOSE.
Jesus, it's been a tough week and a half since Christmas. First, Beth's grandmother died so Beth has been back and forth to Lovely Lynchburg for the past week or so. My poor Bethy. And condolences to the family, too. Then, my pop had what they call a "mini-stroke" and ended up in the hospital. He's out and he's fine, but they're keeping an eye on him. A little scary, to say the least. Plus, the horrors from the tsunamis in Asia has pretty much permeated everything since it happened. Not the best start to the new fucking year, but I'm sure it will get better.
TIP OF THE DAY. DONATION SKILLS. TAGLINE.

Tip Of The Day: Try to avoid having a coughing fit when you're taking a dump. Bad, bad, and more bad.

I know someone I talked to yesterday is waiting for me to make a comment about his lack of compassion and his lack of donation skills, but I'm giving him a pass. It's his choice not to donate to the tsunami relief funds and I respect that. I still wish he would, but that's fine.   I need a new tagline. "Beliefs, Controls, and the Occasional Bologna Sandwich" just isn't doing it for me anymore. Any suggestions?
STAY OFF OF MY TV.

I don't usually slag off my favorite band (and I don't usually use the phrase "slag off" either), but I'm getting a little tired of all of U2's TV appearances. Their halftime gig at the Super Bowl a couple of years back was very cool, but recently they've sorta crossed a line with me. I didn't mind them hawking their U2 I-Pod (since much of it is going to charity), but then they "debuted" their new video for "All Because Of You" during the Orange Bowl on Tuesday. And "debuted" is in quotes because it wasn't really their full video. The goddamn thing was interspersed with clips of the USC-Oklahoma game. It was embarrassing. Plus, I've been hearing some of their tunes in other TV shows lately (see last night's episode of "Alias"). I dunno, it's not sitting well with me at all. Then again, maybe I'm just old school-y and pine for the days when bands weren't selling Cadillacs and whatnot.

KITTIN SURVEY. Tagline, Kittin Survey, Pick Pick Pick, Tip Of The Day, Happy Something I Suppose, Donation Skills, Horrific, and Stay Off Of My TV.

HORRIFIC. PICK PICK PICK.
Speaking of the tsunamis, I saw one of the most horrific picture I've ever seen, in terms of scale. At first, I thought the picture wasn't so bad. Then I scrolled down. And scrolled down some more. And then scrolled to the right. Very very disturbing and sad. I'm posting the picture not out of some sick fascination, but because it really shows the scale of the disaster. Warning: Do not click on it if you're squeamish about dead bodies or can't handle death on a large scale. The picture is here.   Wedding Update: We're still mulling over the reception/ceremony site. We thought we had a place picked out, but after tallying up all the charges and fees, we came to the conclusion that it may be a bit out of our price range (maybe I should sell all of my stocks--heh). But we haven't ruled it out yet. However, time is ticking by. We gotta get a place so we can get started on all the other crap stuff.
