I
think I may add another rule to my
Rules for TV Watchability: No time travel.
Another eye-rolling new season of "Lost" has
begun and I'm not sure how much longer I can take it. The latest plot
development (if you can call it that) revolves around several of the
main characters going back and forth in time. And to make it worse, the
time travel is random. John Locke has a gun pointed in his face? Woosh!
Off he goes into the future. Daniel Faraday is being forced to disarm a
hydrogen bomb? Woosh! Off he goes to who knows when. I mean, c'mon.
That's just laziness on the part of the writers.
And don't get me started on all of the
flash-forwards (as opposed to flashbacks). These flash-forwards show
that some of the characters were able to get off the island and back
into civilization. Um, isn't being lost the whole point here? I
guess not.
Halfway through last night's episode I tried
to wrestle the remote away from Beth and change the channel ("We have to
make a clean break! It's the only way!"). She wouldn't go for it.
Oh well. Maybe next week. |
