Thursday March 2 2006.
I Can Afford Heat, Water, Electricity, and The Washington Post.

Like Tom Sizemore says in Saving Private Ryan: "We're in business now! Definitely!"

My little newsletter-producing outfit has suddenly been booming in the last two months. My client base has increased by about 70% and net profits are going to be up by...well, let's just say up by a lot. Two years ago I was in the red and last year my net profits were piddlin', but now I'm looking to rise above (drum roll) The Official U.S. Poverty Level.

Why the increase? Well, I've been advertising fairly heavily on Google and Yahoo and their affiliates. No, it's not free, but it's been my most effective marketing campaign so far. I now have clients in eight different states plus several here in the D.C. metro area. Right now, I have 17 clients and I have about three or four more on the hook. I had hoped to have 20 clients by the end of the year, but I may eclipse that number before spring hits.

And to answer the question some of my friends will undoubtedly ask: Yes, that means I can't skip out of work at 3:00 anymore. Hello nine-hour days.

By the way, what is the poverty level? Huh. Maybe I should find that out before I run off at the mouth...
