Bracket time! Ah yes, another NCAA tournament bracket filled out only to
be balled up and trashed by this time next Sunday.
Oh well.
If nothing else, at least Beth and I have a
good time filling out our brackets, deciding what our annual bet is
going to be, and then talking smack for a couple of weeks. Beth beat me
last year for the first time in six years and won our bet, which was for
me to go on 11 (nothing like a nice round number) dog walks with her.
However, I flatly refused to pay up because, well, I guess I'm just a
prick. Actually, I think I was just extremely agitated because her
team won the whole shebang. I told her that if Carolina won again this
year, I was going to have an affair with a Duke girl.
And my prediction for this year? Well, I think
it's going to be a Final Four we don't expect. No one looks particularly
buff this year, so I think we'll see a few more upsets than usual. I'll
post my bracket here once Beth and I reveal our brackets to each other
tomorrow.
I can say this: my two adopted teams, George
Mason and San Diego State, probably won't make it out of the first
round--and I think Georgetown, Gonzaga, and a few other minor
heavyweights won't either. |
