Sit. Stay.

With a one-week gap between Beth's old job and new job (um, if you hadn't heard, she has a new job after 11 years with BAE), we decided to take a little vacation. Nothing major, just a couple of days away somewhere. But since we couldn't really agree on where to go (Beth: "I want to go somewhere that doesn't involve gambling or drinking." Me: "That's not really a vacation, then."), we came up with a better idea:

Staycation!

No, we're not going to stay at home and putz around the house, but rather we're going to stay a couple of days in D.C. and see/visit things that we either a) haven't seen before, or b) haven't seen in a long time. For example, we're thinking of going up in the Washington Monument (if it isn't a 4-hour wait), checking out the Lincoln Memorial at night, seeing the Holocaust Museum (nothing says vacation like that place), going to the Newseum, National Portrait Gallery, etc, etc. Plus, we're kicking off the staycation with the Caps game on Sunday and we're staying two nights at the poshy-posh Willard Hotel. Nice!

Sure, it's not exactly an exotic trip, but we decided that we wanted to take advantage of our closeness to D.C. We don't have very many people visit us from out of town (OK, no one visits us) and we don't have kids, so we never really have a good reason to go into the city to sightsee. This is the perfect opportunity.

Then again, maybe we're just indecisive lame-o's.

But if we are, so be it.
