Friday March 26 2004. JUSTIN'S FORUM.
I need to change the name of the comments link at the bottom of the page to "Justin's Forum." Honestly, other people do read this besides Justin.

  (cue the crickets)

SICK DAY PARTY. VIGNETTES XIII. SNACKS.

With today's impending nice weather (76°), I was thinking of maybe having a Sick Day Party soon. Invite all my friends to call in sick at their jobs and come over to my house. Bloody Marys in the morning, Coronas in the afternoon, do a little grilling. I'd be willing to bet that at least 10 of my friends would be up for it. And they'd probably just tell their bosses that they were going drinking for the day. They're all lushburgers.

Beth took her laptop to the IT department at work. She said it wasn't working at all--wouldn't even boot up. The IT guy said he'd take a look at it.
After lunch, Beth went back down to the IT department and the guy was running some diagnostic tests on it. Impressed, Beth asked him how he managed to get the thing to turn on.
He looked at her and said, "It's a laptop. You have to hold the power button down."
  Oh.
Some new editions for the BGD:
snack - (origin: Glenn) A piece of dog shit; derived from the dog eating his own shit ("Goddamn it, the dog's having a snack again!").
Fend-For-Yourself Night - (origin: Glenn) A night in which Glenn and Beth must make their own dinners.
THE STADIUM PAL. BIZ.
Speaking of lushburgers, here's what can only be classified as A College Idea Brought To Fruition: The Stadium Pal. Power to the people! Colostomy bags for all!   I've decided to start a one-man company that combines my two backgrounds: writing and selling. I'm starting a business that sells newsletters to real estate agents and mortgage brokers. Good idea, yeah?
ANNIECAT. Anniecat, Snacks, A Sick Day Party, Carbon Copies, The Stadium Pal, Faded And Outdated, Biz, Vignettes XIII, and Justin's Forum.

FADED AND OUTDATED. CARBON COPIES.
Driving back from the video store (it should be "DVD store"), I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. It wasn't pretty. Dirty San Diego Sockers hat, smudged up sunglasses, unshaven, and unshowered. I was also wearing brown hiking boots with black dress socks, badly faded and outdated blue jeans, and a 2001 wine-colored softball long-sleeve. Taken as a package, I looked like a bum. Even taken separately, I looked like a bum.
I began to wonder if this whole Working From Home thing has affected how I present myself to society. Am I a Slobbo Slobinovich? Could be. But then again, maybe I shouldn't care. Well, up to a point I shouldn't care.
I think "cc'ing" should be outlawed in email. Every time I'm on a "cc" list from someone and I do a "reply all" (which my friends and I always do because we'd like the whole group to get our witty comments) I get my same email back. And then I get two copies of every email. On and on. Is this common or is this just me?
Of course, I could avoid doing a "reply all," but where's the fun in that?
