Notes From Election Day.

Beth came over to the dark side and voted for Obama today. She also voted for Democrat Mark Warner for the Senate, which was a little surprising. But that's as far as she went:

GLENN: Did you vote a straight Democratic ticket this morning?
BETH: No, I actually voted a mixed ticket.
GLENN: Obama and Warner? And...?
BETH: And I voted for the one Republican on the ballot. Finnegan...Finneman...whatever.
GLENN: You mean Keith Fimian?
BETH: Yeah, that's him.
GLENN: Do you know what office he's running for?
BETH:
GLENN: I see. You kind of voted for him out of guilt, huh?
BETH: Yep.

-----------------------------------------------------

This morning's news was filled with dire warnings about 3-hour waits at the polls and such. Well, when I walked up to my polling place, there was a line of about 30 people--but all of them were in the "Last Name L-Z" line. And the number of people in my "Last Name A-K" line?

One. Just me. I was in and out in four minutes.

-----------------------------------------------------

And then there's this:

This is a house about two blocks down from me. I've been meaning to take this picture for about a month now. Unfortunately, this picture doesn't do it justice. There are three or four more Sarah Palin signs plastered on the siding on the right side of the house. Plus, there's a huge "SARAH!" sign attached to the top of a 25-foot poll in the middle of the front yard.

I'm glad this election is over.
