You, Sir, Are A Pain In The Neck Head.

So I've been having these headaches for the past week and a half. Actually, strike that. I've been having one headache for the past week and a half. I think it was last Monday that it started and it hasn't gone away (except maybe for last Tuesday, when I took 47 Advils before softball). I wake up with it. I go to bed with it. Most of the time it's just an annoying and dull background-ish headache, but other times it's really crippling. There was a period of 72 hours last weekend that I couldn't do anything except lie on the damn couch. The best way to describe it: It's like I have a hangover. All the time.

And it's not like it's in one place. It's all over. Temples, neck, forehead, top of the head, whatever. I was so bad last weekend that my teeth were killing me (which, in hindsight, was probably from grinding my teeth at night because my head hurt so much).

I did go to the doctor this week, so don't start bugging me about that. I was hoping for a Magic Pill, but of course, he wasn't sure what it was either. He did give me some anti-inflammatory meds and they do help a little, but it's still there. I also donated some blood and urine, so hopefully those test results will clue us in to what the hell's wrong. I should have those results tomorrow. And the next step? Either a CAT scan or an MRI. Yeesters.

In the end, I think it just makes me angry as much as anything else. I suppose I could live with the pain if I really had to, but it would make me a bitter bitter man--even more bitter than I am now.

[Update #1: The blood test shows I have a slight infection. Of course, that doesn't narrow it down a whole lot, but at least it's a start. The doc told me to keep taking the meds and we'll see how it is later next week.]

[Update #2: Besides the headaches, the pain seems to have localized in my left jaw and ear. I went back to the doctor and he thinks it could possibly be either TMJ or another dental problem. On to the dentist this week...God, I love dentists.]
